Good times, Bad times

Good Times:  I now have Persona 4, memory card and shiny new book.

Bad Times:  Having to walk damn near an hour in the rain to pick them up.

Let the games begin: Persona 4

With term well under way, time to sort out what games I should study for the assignment of one of my units.  I've tried to ensure that each game covers a whole range of experience in the gaming genre, from platform, location, genre, popularity, audience, intensity and control.  First up to consider is Persona 4 covering PS2, far east, RPG, quirky, critic favourite, niche and hardcore

I'm free of exams and back to a regular lecture schedule.  So here whats been happening during the last few weeks.

Investigation into Conversation

The last week or two I've been pondering the question of conversation mechanics in video games.  So here are my thoughts and what I plan to do next.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood: Early Thoughts

So much content to chew through in this game it might be awhile before I have done enough to say mostly finished.  So here are two bits of brotherhood so far one awesome, the other not so much.

Post xmas Post

The holiday season was good to me games wise.  I managed to avoid losing all my money to the Xmas steam sale and picked up a few games lurking on my wish list.  I've got "Stabbing dudes in Rome simulator with friends" (Assassins creed brotherhood), "Wait what the hell was that sound I really hope that wasn't some horrible gribbly thing about to break this cupboard open and eat my face" (Amnesia), "Capitalism Ho!" (Recettear: An items shop tale) and "14 21 17 9 23 11 9" (Call of Duty: Black Ops).  Quite a nice range from adorable to scary.

I've managed to muck about with all of them and gone back to a few games that have been shelved for my own safety (Civ 5 I'm looking at you!) as well as catch up on the gaming news.  So expect to see some reviews and rants shortly.

The Return of the Nerd

Apologies for the lack of posting as my main computer has been out of action.  The cooling unit died due to overheating.  Irony is wonderful isn't it.

Expect soon, some Epic tales of whats been happening over the last few weeks: the start of university, the beginning of a project in the unreal engine and a good couple of games the good, the bland and the time consuming.

It's good to be back.
